My Third Day At That Station April 20, 2014

A long weekend at the station would conclude after today. Still waiting to jump up and down when I get my first call. Well as soon as I walked through the door to the station the waiting would end. While the alarms go off we and were waiting for the call to come through my heart was beating a million miles per minute. With my blood flowing faster then ever and my adrenalin pumping, we hustle down the stairs and jump into the engines. The sirens would alarm,we were rolling and would be on our way. When we got to the scene we went in to check it out and help are victim in need. The victim was in need of transportation to the hospital so we put him in the ambulance and would began an IV and questioning to see the patients symptoms. Today would be the day I learn to hook up and insert an IV, I was surprised it wasn't that hard but I was really nervous at first. After we dropped are patient to the hospital we were on are way back to the station. It was Sunday which is the day of the week were the station takes inventory. When we were all done with that we suited up for training. We would go to the back of the station to the training facility to fight a fire. I can't begin to explain how cool it was to get a feeling of what it actually feels like. I also while fighting the fire got to save a baby in all of the smoke. It was a feeling I've never felt before. Even though the baby wasn't real I still felt like a hero because that could actually happen. Today, so far has been the best day at the station and made my passion for this career grow. I could definitely see myself doing this for a living more and more each visit. I cant wait to come back next weekend to see whats in store for me even though I'm really sore from all the gear we have to wear, plus almost getting knocked over by the hose from all the pressure.
