Saturday would be my second day at the station. Today would be my first day of actually living the life of a firefighter I could say. My emotions were running high and I was very excited to start to learn how it feels to respond to calls and to see there emotions when responding immediately. In the mean time while waiting for some calls to come through my mentor and I were testing all of the PPE equipment and making sure everything was good for them to get re-certified. These pieces of fire apparatus must be re-certified every two years. It only takes one little tiny thing to be wrong for it to fail the test so we must inspect them very well. When we were done doing all of that, which took a long time, they treated me with a nice lunch. When lunch was over we all went down stairs to wash the engines and made them shine. After that I had to take off to work, so I will have to wait til next time to go on my first call which I cant wait for.
