Friday was my first day at south San Francisco 's station 61 fire department. At first, I was a little nervous but it wore off as me and my mentor talked and I started to feel more comfortable. My first day at the station wasn't anything to exotic. What I did my first day at the station was first to meet everyone else that my mentor and I would be working with, which was all the other firefighters that were on that shift. After I met everyone my mentor and I sat in his office and had a brief conversation about why I choose this topic, what I find interesting, and why I want to be a firemen. After we talked about that we talked a little more brief about the process of becoming a firemen and what my plans are for my future and how I'm planning on achieving this career. We finished the day with a tour of the whole station and all of the engines and trucks.
